Cinch Sack Distribution Volunteer Duties
Time: 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM and 10:15 AM-12:15 PM
Location: Riverland Community College – Enter through Door 7 (main door) and park in the main entrance parking lot.
Note: A volunteer t-shirt will be provided to help you stand out and be easily recognized.
Arrive early and get ready
- Wear your volunteer t-shirt so students and staff can easily identify you.
- Carry the event coordinator’s phone number in case questions or emergencies arise.
- Locate your designated cinch sack station before buses arrive.
Hand out cinch sacks as students enter
- Greet each student warmly while distributing sacks.
- Keep supplies organized to ensure smooth distribution.
Answer student questions
- Be approachable and friendly—most questions will be about where to go or what’s inside the cinch sack.
- If unsure of an answer, connect students with a staff member rather than guessing.
Assist with organizing departing students
- Help line up or group students while they wait for buses.
- Watch for any students who appear confused or separated from their group and provide guidance.
Take quick notes of any issues
