Austin Aspires will be hosting Block Parties at Shirley Theel Park on select Thursdays throughout the summer. The hope is to support parents/caregivers in their role, encourage a safe summer, and to bring summer fun out to that area of Austin. Each Thursday will have a different activity.
This event will include park clean-up for both adults and youth and games and activities for afterwards. Volunteers may encourage counting, noticing, and identifying objects while cleaning. Adults will learn about teachable moments they can provide for their children while they are outdoors.
Volunteers are responsible to help with set up and take down of the event! Dinner is provided!
