We are seeking volunteers to assist with food totes delivery for the Backpack Program, ensuring children receive essential weekend meals.
Note: This volunteer opportunity is for food delivery distribution, not for the packing event. Volunteers will be responsible for delivering food totes to local schools as part of the Backpack Program.
Volunteer Tasks:
- Pick-up Location: Start at the back of Austin Aspires, 318 North Main Street, to collect food totes.
- Delivery Assignment: You’ll be assigned a school, given instructions, and provided contact numbers for support.
- Vehicle Space: Ensure your vehicle can hold 3-4 totes (23" x 17 1/4" x 16 5/8").
- School Drop-off: Deliver to the assigned school and meet the janitor.
- Time Commitment: Each delivery takes about 30 minutes.
Requirements: Access to a car, valid driver’s license, and insurance. United Way is not liable for accidents during delivery.
Important Note: Only the driver of the vehicle will receive volunteer credit. If there are multiple passengers in the car, only the driver who signs up will be credited for the volunteer hour.
