What is the Backpack Program?
The United Way's Backpack Program packs food bags for children who might otherwise go without food during the weekend.
As a volunteer, you will be expected to perform the following tasks:
1. Unload cases of food: Work collaboratively with fellow volunteers to efficiently unload cases of food from vehicles.
2. Physical Fitness: Carry cases of food into the building and store in designated area. This will require volunteers to have the physical capacity to participate in activities involving lifting, bending, and moving up and down stairs. If you have any mobility concerns or limitations, please inform us immediately, as this volunteer opportunity involves various physical components.
3. Attention to Detail: Ensure that the food cases are stored in the correct location and maintain a high level of precision.
4. Transportation: You must have your own transportation to and from locations.
