Help us restore our forests by fighting the spread of invasive species.
Invasive species are any species that are non-native and harm the local ecosystem. When these non-native plants and animals establish themselves in our local ecosystems, they out-compete and dislodge species that have evolved specifically to live there. Invasives degrade our soil which leads to erosion. Erosion can lead to lower quality of our water, so making sure native plants are thriving is an important conservation effort. Native species provide shade, carbon storage, and habitat for native wildlife.
Throughout the years thanks to volunteers we have seen our forest go from being overtaken by invasive species to thriving with native plants like bluebells, may apples, trout lily, and gooseberries. Sign up and help as we restore our forest.
