Discover Austin, Minnesota

Established in 1984 as separate from the Austin Area Chamber of Commerce, focusing primarily on tourism and visitors.

Our mission is to promote tourism for the Austin area to enhance the economy of our community.  Discover Austin MN works with area attractions and organizations to coordinate group tours, meetings, conventions, reunions, sports events, and leisure travel so we can spread the word about all the great aspects of our city.  We schedule and coordinate tours, conduct step on and City tours for bus groups, greet tour groups and welcome them to Austin and our community, provide logistic and administrative support for a variety of events and for meetings/conventions to include welcome and registration activities, welcome bags, tour scheduling.  Support community activities - for example, VEX Robotics competition, Austin ArtWorks Festival, MN High School Mountain Bike race, the annual Merry TubaChristmas concert.  We maintain a community calendar on line to help keep visitors as well as local area informed about what is happening in the area, and send out a weekly newsletter based on the calendar.
