Mower County Humane Society

The Mower County Humane Society is a non-profit, 100% volunteer run group that rescues abandoned cats and dogs in Mower County.  We do not receive any money from Mower County, the city of Austin or from other humane societies.  We rely on donations and volunteers.  We are located at 101 22 ST SE, Austin, MN which is on 218 SOUTH, just past our local airport.

The Mower County Humane Society is in need of responsible, animal-loving volunteers.  We come in on a daily basis, 365 days/year,  to clean kennels and feed, water, and medicate abandoned pets.  Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. To sign up to volunteer, you will need to come to the Mower County Humane Society during one of our adoption events (Tues 4:30 to 6PM or Sun 2 to 4PM)  and fill out a volunteer waiver form.  At that time, you can indicate if you want to work with cats or dogs. If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian will have to sign the form also.  We ask that if you sign up to volunteer, that you SHOW UP and be ready to clean dirty kennels, etc.
