Help support the arts while making a lasting impact behind the scenes at Second Act Thrift Store!
Matchbox Children's Theatre is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable theatre productions, arts education, and creative opportunities for children and families throughout the Austin community. The organization's Second Act Thrift Store generates approximately 93% of the funding that makes these youth programs possible.
During this two-hour volunteer experience, interns will:
- Learn how the thrift store directly supports local youth theatre and arts education.
- Help reorganize the sales floor to improve the shopping experience.
- Sort and organize donated inventory.
- Assist with cleaning and organizing the upstairs storage area.
- Help remove unusable materials and create more functional storage and merchandising spaces.
A well-organized store allows Matchbox Children's Theatre to process donations more effectively, increase revenue, and continue providing affordable theatre productions, arts classes, scholarships, and creative experiences for children and families throughout our community.
NOTE: Please wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dusty or dirty and closed-toe shoes, as this project involves lifting, organizing, and moving donated items.
