Keeping our rivers clean!

For the last five years volunteers, community members, and members of the Friends of the Nature Center have helped clean up our local waterways. From Dobbins Creek (pictured) to Cedar River, help us keep our rivers and streams clean this year. We provide the tools, you bring the elbow grease!
If you have waterproof shoes, feel free to wear them. If not, we have a limited supply of waders we can provide. Not interested in getting wet? We need folks to help walk along the banks and pick up trash and debris!
If you're interested in bringing your family out to volunteer for this event, one thing we ask is that the youngest child you bring is 8 years old or older. Volunteering with family can be a blast, and we also want to be sure we keep everyone safe. We believe the age limit will help do this.
Got a youth group that would like to attend? Feel free to sign up as a group! Anyone who attends will receive one free kayak or canoe rental at the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center!
Location will be determined closer to the date, as we will inspect our waterways to see where our greatest needs are. In the past we have typically cleaned up Dobbins Creek or the Cedar River.
