Austin Aspires will be hosting Block Parties at Shirley Theel Park on select Thursdays throughout the summer. The hope is to support parents/caregivers in their role, encourage a safe summer, and to bring summer fun out to that area of Austin. Each Thursday will have a different activity. This event will include multiple community partner's and a dress for success event.
Volunteers will be responsible for helping Aspires staff set up and take down the event. Volunteers will be supporting a dress for success event that will include community partners sharing their resources and tables filled with clothes that families present at the event can choose 5 outfits per child. Duties may include putting designated clothing size on table and keeping it organized as families go through items.
Dinner is included for volunteers at the event. Dinner will be Jimy Johns sandwiches and chips.
